Question: The value of a 1857 1/2 dollar california gold coin?

This coin is in a setting for a necklace but is beautiful shape! Please someone help us with an approximation of the value. Was made over 50 years ago as a gift. thank you in advance.

There are actually no 1/2 dollar California gold coins that are dated except a few dated 1872. You have a replica and it may or may not be gold. They have been made since the 1870's for jewelry. There are many types but the most common has a bear on one side. Thus is the best I can do without actually seeing it. The date does give it away though.
