Question: I need an answer to a question about a gold coin? (Posted by: gregw on 2010-02-14 00:00:29) On the top of the coin it says I am a contributor and it's year is 1939-1940 and it's the Pythian Turberculosis foundation the front picture is of a knight with arrows in his heels holding a shield and a sword. The back of the coin says I brought sunshine to hearts in gloom and it's a picture of a sun set on a horizon of the ocean and I'm just wondering if anyone has any information on it or maybe a price I could sell it at. Any response if appreciated. Thank you for your time. |

Posted by: liberty 911 on 2010-02-15, 02:22:13 There are two charitable groups called the Knights of Pythias and the Pythian Sisters. It appears they periodically have tokens made for fundraisers and the like, but I can not find a picture of one with your description. It is likely made of brass or bronze and not gold. The study of these items is called exonumia, and you might check that subsection of Coins and Paper Money category on eBay. I hope that helps. |
