Question: Ok so i got a gold coin and need to know tha value.? (Posted by: Peter J on 2010-02-08 09:58:50) Ok I got a gold coin from the Commonwealth of the Bahama Islands with queen Elizabeth II on the front and a palace with a flag and palm trees on the back. It's a ten dollar piece from 1972. If you could help me out that'd be awesome. |

Posted by: Taiping on 2010-02-08, 12:20:49 You have KM#34 it is .917 gold and there is .0942 oz of actual gold weight. less than 1/10 oz. Catalog value is $90- mintage 11,000 for the Uncirculated version and $110 for the Proof version mintage 1,250. Of course most catalogs taken into consideration the price of gold or silver at the time of printing only. Gold has gone up and down since them but mostly up. Your coin has little collector value added, due to the lack of collector for such an item. The queen is on the obverse (front) and on the Reverse (back) is a fortress not a palace. As for a value now you would need to check with coin dealers the day you sell it. My advice keep it for gold will be up much higher by years end. I have no idea where Adam got his gold content figure but it is wrong. |
