Question: What is this tiny gold coin? (Posted by: HarleyGirl on 2009-09-30 10:49:29) I have a 1904 Gold coin that is about the size of my pinkie nail. It says twenty dollars on it, but the coin I keep finding online that looks like it wasn't made until 1907. |

The US gold Quarter Eagle is slightly larger than a US dime, but the denomination is $2 1/2 while the design did not change until 1908. The US gold Double Eagle is larger than a US half dollar, but the denomination is $20 while the design did change in 1907. A photo of your item would be helpful, but you might have a replica. Please provide more information or photos. |

If what you found is true gold, that could be sold over a few thousand dollars. Most people who had that coin was exceptionally wealthy as money back then was MUCH more then it is now. I'd say take it to a coin shop and see it's worth. You could be in for some good money. |
